Sometimes life isn’t about finding happy endings, but learning to let go without turning to stone. Gracias, la siguiente began as an attempt to put emotions I couldn’t silence into words, and ended up being a book that saved me many times.
This isn’t a love story, though there are many. It’s a story about what comes after love. About uncomfortable silences, unsent messages, and the songs we can no longer listen to without remembering something —or someone— that still lives within us, even if they’re gone.
What you’ll find (and what you won’t)
Gracias, la siguiente won’t give you answers, but it might help you ask the right questions. There’s no magic formula for healing a broken heart, but there are pages that can make you feel less alone while you try.
Inside, you’ll find real conversations, playlists that once worked as anesthesia, and 3am confessions. There’s chaos, yes, but also beauty in the middle of the wreckage.
I’m not promising certainty. Just an honest story.
Are you as obsessed with pop culture as I am?
If you can quote Mean Girls or cried during Three Steps Above Heaven, this book is for you.
Gracias, la siguiente is packed with references that speak to a generation shaped by the soundtrack of Panic! at the Disco, Paramore, The Killers, Blink-182, by shows like Peaky Blinders and Dexter, and the teenage glow of Hilary Duff, Britney Spears, and Olivia Rodrigo. If you’ve ever felt that a song understood you better than your friends, this book will feel like home.

Why did I write it?
Because many of us stay out of fear, habit, or not knowing how to move on. Because deep down, we’re all trying to start over without erasing who we were. Also, because I think most sapphic stories—books, movies, or shows—feel fake. They don’t reflect us as we truly are.
Gracias, la siguiente is my way of saying: I was here, I felt this, and I’m still moving forward.
If you’ve ever wondered if you were the problem. If you’ve ever gone back just to feel like yourself again. If you ever walked away knowing it was over… this book is for you.
